We are professional, agile, customer-centric and our job is Hydroseeding and Erosion Control.
Our work environment includes:
- On-the-job training
- Flexible/SEASONAL working hours
We are seeking a dedicated Hydroseeding Technician with a CDL Class A license to join our close-knit family business. Our technicians are a crucial part of our operation, ensuring that properties and developments are ready for lush growth in the spring and fall. As a seasonal position, our compensation is higher than typical CDL Class A positions to reflect the unique skill set and dedication required for success. Here’s a glimpse into your day-to-day responsibilities:
- Arrive at the shop each morning to pick up your designated route and grass seed material for the day.
- Drive to various water sources to load up your hydroseeding truck with the necessary water for your route.
- Navigate to your route destinations which range from highway roadsides to large property developments.
- Upon arrival spray the area with a firehose, distributing a mixture of water, grass-seed, fertilizer, and mulch over the designated areas, much like putting out a fire, but with the aim of promoting grass growth.
- Work diligently and efficiently, showing a high level of grit especially during our peak seasons of spring and fall.
- Participate in on-the-job training to master the art and science of grass growth, ensuring that each project is completed with the utmost quality and care.
Requirements:
- Valid CDL Class A license.
- Ability to return home daily and commit to a seasonal schedule with varying hours.
- Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to handle physical workload and to work in various weather conditions.
- Previous experience in a similar role or in landscaping is a plus, but not required as on-the-job training will be provided.
We value long-term relationships with our employees and offer a competitive pay rate to reflect the level of skill and dedication we seek. If you’re looking to grow with a small family business and contribute to beautiful, green landscapes in our community, we’d love to hear from you.
Also important part of our application process is understand the labor side of driving. Our hoses are 100-foot long, 2 to 4-inches thick, basically like a firehose that shoots a mixture of water/seed/mulch. Most drivers we meet are pretty tough but still get quickly worn-out from carrying our hose day-to-day. The drivers that stick like the heavy-work aspect as well as the seasonality.
If you cannot manage seasonality, then you probably are not a good fit. Our business seasonality:
- Winter = 1 (Lowest Workload)
- Spring = 3 (High Workload)
- Summer = 2 (Moderate Workload)
- Fall = 4 (Highest Workload)
We pay you to work the busy season with the expectation you will stick around for the slow seasons.
Hopefully you can tell we are trying to weed out people that do-not fit our work-load / work-culture / etc. If you’re still here, please apply and we’ll contact you to come in and meet the team.
